Artwork Description
Walter Robinson – The Hours
Dimensions: 42 x 27 x 2″ unframed
Year: 2014
Medium: digital print on paper over panel with clocks
This work incorporates plastic children’s clocks, juxtaposed with an old Spanish playing card Robinson’s mother and his aunt used to tell fortunes. The title “Sic Transit Gloria Mundi,” can be translated as “so passes the glory of the World.” An introspective exploration of the passage of time from childhood through future age, Robinson equates this work with his own aging experience, as well as that of human civilization.
Walter Robinson’s artworks are keen testaments to complex coding in the visual arts. His works are included in museum collections and galleries throughout the world.
