Judy Chicago’s Fan series of drawings and paintings is part of her exploration of color and geometric shape. Created in the “Cool School” style prevalent in Los Angeles in the 60s and 70s, these works combine minimal, pop, and abstract expressionist influences. In this drawing, Chicago employs the minimalist notion of repetition, as well as her personal language of color, thus exploring the relationship between space and color.
