About Squeak Carnwath, critic Miriam Seidel said “Carnwath builds her paintings up layer by layer, blending poetry and imagery with color and luminosity to emphasize the essence of her message: We should all take the time to appreciate and revel in the familiar circumstances of our daily lives.” Squeak is a major American painter whose work may be found in the collections of the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco,SFMOMA, The Brooklyn Museum, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, among others.
