Faile, founded in 1999 by Patrick McNeil (born in 1975 in Edmonton, Alberta) and Patrick Mille (born in 1976 in Minneapolis, Minnesota), initially included Aiko Nakagawa, who later departed in 2006. The name “Faile” originated as an anagram of their first project, “A life.” With a background in art and design, they mastered techniques like silk-screen printing and stenciling. Their works blend diverse influences, including retro, fifties/seventies pulp, pop art, and a clever mix of typography, inspired by artists like Rauschenberg, Kubrick, Warhol, Twombly, and Lichtenstein.
