Italian-American artist Monica Lundy gives voice to the misunderstood and disenfranchised in society. Her upbringing in Saudi Arabia makes her keenly aware of the inequities women face. Lundy’s works depict women who have been imprisoned or locked up in mental institutions for “offenses” such as being “disobedient,” “promiscuous,” “too loud,” or otherwise “deviant.”
