“When reflecting upon the prompt, it inspired me to think about some of the world’s most pressing issues. Undoubtedly, global warming is one of the world’s most pressing issues today and not a lot of people are taking action against it- the world is silent about it. In my piece, the polar bear is “speaking out” because its species has largely been “silenced” due to this issue.” Cynthia Viets
