Philip Guston is one of the most celebrated painters of the New York School. Along with Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, and Willem de Kooning, he was a pioneer of Abstract Expressionism, and his paintings are prominently displayed at more than 100 major museums throughout the world including the Centre Pompidou in Paris; Reina Sofia in Madrid; Guggenheim, Met, Whitney and MoMA in New York; SFMoMA; Stedelijk in Amsterdam; London’s Tate Modern; and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
